Guelph Wish Fund for Children celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009
The Guelph Wish Fund for Children will grant a favourite “wish” to a child who is 19 years of age and under, and who has a serious or life- threatening illness, a severe handicap, or who has been critically injured. The child must also reside in Guelph and South Wellington County. It is the hope of the charity to provide the child and family with a special moment or memory that will help, if only for a short time, to relieve the pain and anxiety caused by their illness or injury.
Thanks to a community that cares, and the generosity of many individuals, groups, and businesses, and our tireless volunteers, the Guelph Wish Fund for Children has been able to meet those commitments to the children in our community who want and need our help.
The first “wish” granted by the Guelph Wish Fund for Children was May/1985. To date, the charity has raised over 2.3 million dollars, and been involved with 230 children and their families. Some of those “wishes” have been for assistance to make treatments a little easier. Others have required a lot more work and planning. All have been worth the joy and hope brought to our “wish” kids and their families.
Thanks to all who have supported the Guelph Wish Fund over the years!
